Task 1:
a) The children ride the barge up the river. Describe what they see and their reactions in the space below:
b).Research life on river barges in the 1900's. Use the following Search Engines:
http://clusty.com/, http://www.askkids.com/, http://www.quintura.com/. Type “1900’s River Barges”. On A4 paper write about what you discovered. Minimum 250 words.
Task 2:
Look up the definitions of the following: soothingly, staggering, knickerbockers, acquaintances, anxiety, disentangled, incoherent, anticipate, confidential, charity, perambulator, grudgingly. Write the definition and use it in a sentence in your Vocab/Lit notebook. (Note: 12 words, definitions and sentences)
Task 3:
Read the quotes below. Write a paragraph for each in your vocabulary/literature notebook what the sentences means to you.

Task 4:
The clergy man said the children showed loving kindness for Perk's birthday. Write a story about a time when someone showed loving kindness to you on A4 paper. Minimum 500 words. Note this task is weighted 15% towards Term 2 Literacy Grade.
