Chapter Two Assignments

In this chapter the children go to the rail station.
Describe an actual or imagined trip on a train. How did it feel? With whom did you travel? What was your departure and destination? What events transpired on the way?
Instructions: Write your assignment on A4 lined paper. Use paragraphs (4-6 Sentences). Check COPS (Capitals, Organization, Spelling and Punctuation).
Minimum 250 words. On completion, place in your Novel file.

7. What happened in Britain in the 1840s regarding railways?
Once you have completed your note page, use the information to write your answers on A4 lined paper and place in your Novel file.
Task 3: Due Date: _________________
A. Prepare two questionnaires: one to interview ticket sellers asking about usage, schedules, times, prices and delays, and two, to interview passengers about why they are travelling. Write these on A4 lined paper and place in your Novel file.
B. Field trip to Ramses train station. Interview 2 ticket sellers and 2 people waiting to board the train. Record your answers in you Grammar/Writing notebook.
C. Write a 250 word summarizing your findings on A4 lined paper and place in your Novel file. Be sure you have edited, revised, typed, and printed your paper.
Task 4: Read the quote below. Write a paragraph in your vocabulary/literature notebook what the sentences means to you.
