Geography Topics: a) Coastlines b) Settlement: Cities and Transport
Expectations:
- conduct independent research on one coastal case study; create a 500 word report, a visual display, and an oral presentation to share with the class
- begin to understand the cities and basic information from units of study: Settlement (Cities)

1. Copies of Case studies from Save Our Coasts: Maldives, Netherlands, Nile, United Kingdom, East Coast USA
2. Internet sites for research
3. World Watch pgs 21-25

Guided Practice:
Task 1: Read case study handout from Save Our Coasts. Follow instructions from “Save Our Coasts” individual research assignment: 500 word typed word document, visuals and index cards for oral presentation. Include Bibliography using the format we used in Term 1.

Task 2: Read assigned text pages and answer questions in Humanities notebook

Task 3: Draw and label a plan of your neighbourhood including streets, places and traffic flow.

Independent Practice:
1. Geography Save Our Coasts Assignment; Due date: February 22nd
2. Tasks 2 and 3 due February 22nd
