Be sure to ask yourself what are the important events in this chapter? Is Alex getting closer to understanding what happened to his uncle? What new things is he discovering? What do you think is his next step?

Writing

Task 1: Argue why Alex had reason not to trust anyone. Who can he trust? Who can’t he trust and why? What did he think was true and has now discovered is not? Brainstorm, draft a 500 word persuasion writing piece. Remember to use powerful verbs, promises, complimentary language and plenty of descriptors (adjectives, words that describe nouns, e.g. creepy and crawly; and adverbs, words that describe verbs, e.g. slowly, quickly) in your argument.
Keep all notes and writing in Vocab/Lit notebook. Finally self- edit, type and print on A1 paper.
Refer to the writing rubric attached.

Task 2: Write 3 Journal Responses Journal Responses to the following in Journal Notebook. See attachment titled “Y6 Journals”
