There is a lot of popular sports in Egypt but Football is the most loved and most played in Egypt. All people in Egypt play football the youngest boys and eldest men play it. Also Egypt has won a lot of tournaments. To play football you have to have fitness and you must be athletic. Foot ball is played on grass to be safe for players and the team is formed from 11 players and to gain points you must put goals.

From the most popular and famous players in my country is Mohamed Barakat he is really a good player a lot of people love him in Egypt and from outside Egypt he is really good. He was born in November 20, 1976 he is still alive and he plays for the AHLY club. He has played and represented Egypt so many times in the African cup.

Mohamed Barakat won the BBC African Footballer of 2005 award ahead of Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o and Obafemi Martins of Nigeria. He was also named the best player in Africa's continental club competition by the African Football Association for the same year, as he scored 7 goals in the CAF Champions League 2005.
