| Students, please respond to the following question online:
Do you think the gulf between the rich and the poor the Time Traveller talks about exists today?
Please give evidence to support your answer.

| No, there is no differences between the poor and the rich today in humanity's base. Because when the time traveller travelled to the past he did not feel good about people and he talked a bit about them. Ahmed Youssuf Y6

| Ahmed,
Let me rephrase the question:
The Time Traveller talks about the gap between rich and poor people in chapter 6. Does this gap exist now in 2009?

| Yes, there is a gap between the rich and the poor and its a very big one, because there are so rich rich people oppositlly there are very poor people, who may find their daily food only. Also, there is a discrimination which noticed, in government schools and hospitals. Ahmed | |

| Ahmed, You have earned one house point (please bring me your planner tomorrow) for being the first to answer your assignment online . I think your example about schools and hospitals is very relevant today. | |

| Dear Class,
I have two good news items, one, a Y8 student has prepared the Movie video, and two, we will visit chapter summaries to have a better understanding of the novel.
Valid question! |

I do think that there is a gap between the rich and the poor. The lower class citizens are considered and reffered to as "gangsters" or "crimenals" and that idea about the "lower class citizens" is completly wrong but it keeps going on because poor people can not afford to get educated,so they are considered idiots and they are rarelly hired so people think that they become theives. So, the higher class citizens are more or less disgusted by poor citisens. But these weird ideas about the "lower class citizens" are actually spreading povirty, more and more people don't even want to hear about the "lower class citizens",so less people are hired and accepted. When despreat, uneducated, unaceapted, furious people are not acceapted probllems will accour. The "lower class" will actually reach a point where they want to attack the other more fortunate.Jelousy can lead to lots and lots of probllems.

| This is a very thoughtful response. Indeed Mahmoud, many revolutions have started when the impovished have had enough. Theft is not always the option. Most steal out of necessity rather than greed.
I read in the newspaper yesterday that the illiteracy rate in Egypt has risen to 26%. We are living in interesting and precarious times.
Would you bring this topic up on Saturday? We have one Literacy lesson and I want to focus primarily on the novel. |
